Covid: Haryana closes schools, night curfew in some MP, Gujarat towns

As daily Covid-19 cases hit all-time highs in two states on Friday and infection numbers surged elsewhere in north and central India, several states moved to re-impose restrictions while ruling out a total lockdown.
While Haryana announced closure of schools till November 30, Madhya Pradesh clamped a night lockdown in five districts and Gujarat extended the indefinite night curfew ordered in Ahmedabad to Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot from Saturday.

In Rajasthan, where daily cases hit a new high of 2,762 on Friday, prohibitory orders (section 144) were clamped in 33 districts. UP sounded an alert for a possible second pandemic wave, with the health department advising people to stay indoors after a spike in active cases over four days.
