As stated, a friend in need is a friend indeed; these friendships are built up with different memories and elements. Bollywood has beautifully entertained and educated us about the kind of friends we are expected to have. Speaking of which, when actor Aparshakti’s Khurana graces the silver screen, there’s excitement among the cinema lovers, as one gets to relate themself with his portrayal of a reliable friend. Khurana has made sure to shade what we find within our best of friends, thus allowing one to find comfort in the way we are. Right from covering up for his best friend’s newfound attraction to partnering with him in every harmless crime, Aparshakti has done justice to each of these personalities, as they aren’t devoid of depth. He has successfully created a niche for himself among the star celebs and has been making heads turn with his on-screen energy winning hearts and accolades. As the actor turns a year older today, we came across these quirky personalities portrayed by the actor unveiling a shade found within our friends.
The overprotective friend: Bittu – Stree
Aparashakti’s portrayal as Bittu saw him as an overprotective friend, who makes sure that Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) does not fall in a trap, with his newfound love. He was the first one to be suspicious when he finds Vicky being the only one to encounter the presence of a mysterious charming woman (Shraddha Kapoor). He makes sure to knock senses in his hopelessly romantic friend, who’s smitten by her looks and smile. Bittu then initially starts to place her as ‘Stree’ (the woman every man is afraid of). Soon, he along with Vicky decides to research the history of the town and the myth of ‘Stree’, to find a way to save their friend who goes missing one night. In every horrifying incident that follows, Bittu is seen living his life on the edge to make sure Vicky is safe.
Partner in every crime: Abbas Sheikh – Luka Chuppi
We all have that one friend who’s our partner in every crime. No matter what, they’d stick by you and make sure to make all your plans work. In the movie, when an ever-charming Guddu (Kartik Aaryan) falls in love with his intern Rashmi (Kriti Sanon), they decide to opt-in for a live-in relationship before committing for a marriage. And to make their live-in relationship plan successful, Abbas, portrayed by Aparshakti makes sure that they escape their parents’ sight, and helps Guddu to move-in with Rashmi. Right from sorting out a place, to making a thoughtful attempt to get them married with the mantras on the internet, Abbas made sure to stick by them till the very end.
Got your back for life: Fahim- Pati Patni Aur Woh
Aparshakti’s portrayal as Fahim finds him as a sensible soul and at the same time backs up his childhood friend Chintu’s (Kartik Aaryan) gimmicks, when he falls in trouble after finding himself to be infatuated with one of his clients (Ananya Panday). Chintu who’s initially having a successful marriage with Vedika (Bhumi Pednekar), tends to look for opportunities to spend more time with his client. There were moments in the movie when Fahim comes up with creative excuses to remove the suspicions of Vedika who soon begins to doubt Chintu’s whereabouts. Fahim makes sure to back Chintu whenever he lands in trouble – sometimes during the lunch hour, or during a sneaky night out. At the same time, he laments that, in trying to save him repeatedly from various situations, he will himself fall into serious trouble. Fahim even pays the bail, when Chintu breaks a shop, after realising he has wronged Vedika.
Brother from another mother: Bhushan – Badrinath Ki Dulhania
Badri (Varun Dhawan) helps Vaidehi’s (Alia Bhatt) elder sister, Kritika (Sukhmani Lamba) find a husband in Bhushan Mishra who is portrayed by Aparshakti Khurrana. Bhushan is shown as a humble religious human being, who is looking for potential love. Badri’s desi NRI – Bhushan indeed proved to be the perfect match for Kritika; Both even resolve a dowry crisis with Bhushan’s father after which Vaidehi agrees to marry Badri. Even though Aparshakti had less screen time, he managed to grab eyeballs with his shyness, and an ardent desire to stand by Badri’s words to get his love. They were even on the verge of being married at the same altar with their prospective lovers.
Forever friend-zoned buddy: Balbir – Jabariya Jodi
“Aaj toh wah ki jagah, parvah karlo”…In life, one-sided love is beautiful, and at the same time heart-wrenching. Khurana’s character as Balbir found himself to be friend-zoned by his childhood friend (Parineeti Chopra). His unconditional love towards her allowed him to excel in his Shayari and is often seen sharing them to her, as he lives through those verses. Indeed his character seems to be too good to be real, as most of us could resonate with his pain.
