Every Diwali, Bollywood celebrities are known to glam up their beautiful homes not just from the inside, but from the exteriors too! Thousands of led lights and the ethnic diyas glow as they adorn the walls and windows of their lavish homes in Mumbai. This year though, given the times of the pandemic, Bollywood seems to have gone low-key on the Diwali celebrations and the décor. Bombay Times had a tour of the iconic homes of Bollywood filmstars. It was quite surprising to see Amitabh Bachchan’s Jalsa and Janak not glowing with kandils and diyas. The senior actor is known to tastefully decorate his addresses in Mumbai, which becomes a spectacle year after year during this season! Here’s having a look at how only a handful of celebrities took to doing their homes for the festival of lights.

Strings of gold
Shah Rukh Khan’s home, a landmark destination in Bandra, looked hardly ornamented. The beautiful sea facing property was decorated with minimal lights that ran horizontally across each floor of his annex building.

Keeping it minimalistic
Usually, during Diwali, his home décor is quite jhakaas! This year though, blame it on the pandemic or his daughter who’s away from Mumbai with her husband Anand Ahuja that Anil Kapoor has kept the decoration quite bare minimal.

Lights will guide you home!
Shilpa Shetty’s beautiful sea facing bungalow is always a sight to watch out for during Diwali. This year, while her bungalow looked yet to be dolled up with the lights, we could spot the shimmering fairy lights that adorned the pathway to her house.

Adding yellow to the greens!
Ekta Kapoor’s palatial home in Juhu is usually bright and all lit up for Diwali. This year though she keeps it minimalistic. As we shot her bungalow a couple of days before Diwali, the producer had added glow to the lush green trees that line the exteriors of her house.
