Pooja Bedi and Farhan Furniturewala’s daughter, Alaya F made an impressive debut in Bollywood with ‘Jawaani Jaaneman‘. She also comes across as a confident, sassy woman who loves experimenting with fashion.
While talking to Bombay Times about dressing up for Diwali, she says, “I’ve seen my style constantly evolve. It’s a really interesting time stamp for me and embodies a different time in my life.” The young actress is quite clear that she does not want her style to be predictable. “I don’t think my style will ever be consistent, and I don’t really want it to be. I’ve always had fun with fashion and love experimenting with it. Sometimes I’ll make bad choices, sometimes I’ll make good ones, but I’ll have so much fun doing it all!” She also lays emphasis on comfort. “Wear clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable, and carry it off with a smile,” she says, summing up her style mantra.
Alaya is looking forward to dressing up in traditional clothes on Diwali. Giving details on her plans for the festival, she says, “Diwali celebrations are probably going to be smaller this year, with more intimate gatherings as compared to large parties that happen every year. But I’ll never let go of an opportunity to dress up, so I’ll probably wear a gorgeous Shehla Khan lehenga because now I’m totally biased to her designs!.”
Talking about her love for traditional clothes, she adds, “I feel ethereal and elegant when I wear traditional clothes. Whether it’s a simple kurti or a highly embellished and embroidered heavy lehenga – I always feel like a princess when I’m wearing traditional clothes.”
STYLE TIP THAT ALAYA SWEARS BY:
The actress shares, “Instead of pencil heels, I always wear heeled boots or platform shoes under my lehenga whenever I go to a wedding or any other function, where I know I’ll be standing for long hours or dancing. It’s an easy way to stay comfortable in your shoes and look tall, too.”
