Film producer Firoz Nadiadwala was seen arriving at the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office on Monday afternoon, a day after his wife, Shabana Saeed was arrested in a drug-related case.
The NCB summoned the veteran Bollywood producer in connection with the arrest of his wife and seizure of drugs from their residence. Firoz, who was not at home on when the central agency raided his Juhu premises, was summoned for further investigations.
According to reports on ANI, the agency seized 10 grams of ganja from his home.
“We have arrested Firoz Nadiadwala’s wife under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigation is on,” NCB Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede said in a statement.
“Firoz Nadiadwala’s wife Shabana Saeed was issued a notice under section 67 of the NDPS Act. She was arrested after her statement was recorded,” officials said.
Shabana underwent a medical checkup at a government hospital before the NCB produced her in a designated court.
The NCB had earlier arrested four persons during its crackdown on drug peddlers and their clients.
A total of 727.1 grams ganja, 74.1 grams charas, 95.1 grams MD and Rs 3,58,610 have been seized till now from the four accused, officials stated in reports on ANI.
