The festival of lights, Diwali is around the corner and during this time, we get to see Bollywood celebs prepping up to attend lavish parties in town. Amongst everyone, Amitabh Bachchan and his family host a grand Diwali party every year but it looks like, this time they will skip their annual ritual.
In a recent interview with an entertainment portal, Abhishek Bachchan confirmed the same and stated that COVID-19 outbreak and death in the family are the reasons behind calling off the Diwali bash this year.
Abhishek, who is busy promoting his upcoming film ‘Ludo, said that the decision was taken because his sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda’s mother-in-law Ritu Nanda passed away this year. He further said that at a time like this, referring to COVID-19, who will host a party. He concluded by saying that Diwali parties and social occasions are a distant dream as of now.
Big B, Abhishek, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya were tested positive for coronavirus earlier. They were even hospitalized for the same.
Meanwhile, Abhishek revealed that he had kept a fast for Aishwarya on Karwa Chauth recently. He also stated that Aishwarya and he were busy with their professional commitments the whole day and they had a nice, quiet family affair in the evening when the ladies perform the Karwa Chauth pooja.
