Odisha Govt issues guidelines for spot admission of Plus III 1st year

BHUBANESWAR: The higher education department on Monday issued a notification to conduct spot admission for Plus III first year courses. Government had not notified about spot admission earlier. It has also issued guidelines for spot admission to be conducted between November 23 and November 27.

Application process of Plus III first year admission was started from September 8. First and second merit list were published on September 28 and October 22 respectively. According to the rules, admission will be conducted for balance seats on spot selection if any seats lie vacant after second round selection.

According to the guidelines issued by the department for spot admission in degree colleges, the students who had submitted common application form (CAF) online but could not submitted the fees can take part in the process. If the students fail to get seats in first and second round admission, they can also apply for this spot admission.
Students, who were selected during the first or second selection and failed to take admission, can take part in this process. Those who had taken admission during first or second selection but want to change college or subject or both can apply for spot admission. Fresh or new applications will not be entertained, said the official sources.
After second round admission ends on November 3, vacancy position will be available subject and categorise wise in the department website on November 9. Students will log in to the SAMS website to provide their new options for spot selection to get spot admission print out copy of CAF. They can submit a handwritten application in the format given by the department, edited CAF, mark sheet addressing to the Principal of the college where the vacancy exists.
Students can drop this application with documents in the Dropbox installed in the colleges between November 10 and November 13. College will select the names of the candidates and display on the college notice board on November 17 (3pm). Selected students’ data will be uploaded in the college e-space by 6pm on the same day. Students will deposit admission fees online by November 21. Spot admission will start from November 23 and continue till November 27 (6pm).
