KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday ordered the Controller of Examination of Calicut University to appear before it on October 28
th.
Justice Devan Ramachandran issued the order after the official failed to file an affidavit as ordered by the court on October 16
th.
The university’s counsel submitted that by ordering the official to file an affidavit as directed by the court, the official is being pressurized by the court.
Following the submission about ‘pressurizing’, the court ordered the official to remain present before it on October 28
th to explain why he has not filed the affidavit as ordered.
After the court dictated the order, the counsel submitted that the official will file the affidavit as ordered by the court on or before 28
th. The court then clarified in the order that the official need not appear before it if the affidavit is filed on or before 28
th. The court is considering a petition (WP-C No. 20756/2020) filed by K Mithun Raj through advocate CS Manu.
