BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) authorities will verify documents of students online during counselling for BTech, BArch, Integrated MSc courses. Because of Covid situation, students will not visit any nodal centres for document verification and upload it online for verification.
OJEE chairman SK Chand said they will conduct web based counselling this year keeping the Covid situation in mind. “Till last year, we were organising nodal centres across the state for counselling and document verification. Students were coming in numbers to the nodal centres in different scheduled dates,” he added.
Chand said they have changed the offline process because of pandemic situation. “In this web based counselling process, candidates will upload their documents in the OJEE website and our team will verify it. After this they can download their allotment letter for admission,” he added.
An official involved in this counselling process said visit of hundreds of students along with their guardians to a nodal centre is not a good idea during this Covid situation. “If it can be possible through online process, why physical presence is needed. It is being done for the safety of the candidates,” he added.
During document verification, query may be raised by the verifying officers depending on the observations. Therefore, candidates must check their ID regularly during counselling for any message. The query raised must be replied within due date. Otherwise the document verification will be cancelled and the allotted seat will be withdrawn, said the OJEE sources.
