Akshay Kumar has finally addressed rumours about him possibly starring alongside Salman Khan in the highly anticipated film ‘Dhoom 4‘. Those waiting to see the star zooming on-screen in the hit film franchise might have to wait a tad longer as the actor has dismissed claims of starring in the film.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Akki was asked if there was any truth to the viral social media rumour. “As for the Dhoom 4 speculation, I have two words for you, FAKE NEWS,” he said.
The buzz about the actor being a part of the fourth instalment of the franchise took off when a viral tweet claimed that the actor was “almost confirmed” for the role.
However, at the time, neither did the actor, nor the production house comment on the same. As far as the viral post was concerned, it was proven that it was just a fan-made poster.
Meanwhile, other reports doing the rounds claimed that Deepika Padukone is being tapped to play the villain in the film. The actress was said to be keen to play the part but needed to get her dates sorted before she could sign the dotted line. The actress currently has 5 films in her kitty, including her ambitious home production ‘Draupadi’.
‘Dhoom 3’ featured Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Uday Chopra in lead roles.
